Abstract

In the Batak Angkola-Mandailing community, the dalihan na tolu means three community groups that are the foundation. In traditional ceremonies, the dalihan na tolu institution consisting of suhut and kahanggi, anak boru, mora plays an important role in making decisions. The purpose of this paper is to find out the function of each closed and open building in Angkola-Mandailing. The method used is qualitative with inductive reasoning (from specific to general). Utilization of alternating nature as an open space in front of Bagas Godang is increasingly multi-functional, not only related to traditional activities, but also related to religious activities adopted by the people namely Islam. The position of Raja Panusunan or Panusunan Bulung as the leader of the customary assembly is in the upstream and middle part which is marked by a certain mat / hambi. The custom of Dalihan Natolu also cannot be released in the traditional assembly activities. No-no-it must be available to complete the hearing being held
