MASYARAKAT PENDUKUNG TRADISI MEGALITIK: PENGHUNI AWAL SITUS TANJUNGRAYA, KECAMATAN SUKAU, LAMPUNG BARAT MEGALITHIC PEOPLE: THE EARLY OCCUPATION OF TANJUNG RAYA SITES, SUKAU DISTRICT, WEST LAMPUNG

Abstract

ABSTRACT            The Tanjung Raya site is the site of ancient settlement located in the District of Sukau, West Lampung. The traces of human settlement in the past found in the site are an inscription, megalithic tradition remains, ceramics, potteries, and megalithic sculptures. The site was occupied before the inscription emerged. The presence of inscription in the Tanjung Raya site provides clues to early settlers in the site of the Tanjung Raya as an ancient inscription recipient as well as the inhabitants of the site. The approaches taken by the analysis writing are the material culture and sociological approaches. The earliest inhabitant of the settlement site is public support for the Tanjung Raya megalithic tradition. The ceramics in the Tanjung Raya site can be equated with inscription equipment brought by the settlers as a group that carried the inscription. The density of the ceramic findings obtained in the Tanjung Raya site showed that there was a relationship or social interaction between two groups of inhabitant.   Keywords: tradition, megalithic, Tanjung Raya, occupation, interaction.   ABSTRAKSitus Tanjung Raya merupakan situs permukiman masa lampau yang berada di Kecamatan Sukau, Lampung Barat. Jejak permukiman manusia masa lampau di situs Tanjung Raya di antaranya prasasti, tinggalan tradisi megalitik, keramik, tembikar, dan arca megalitik. Situs ini telah dihuni  sebelum hadirnya prasasti. Keberadaan prasasti di situs Tanjung Raya memberikan petunjuk bahwa di Tanjungraya telah terdapat  masyarakat penerima prasasti yang merupakan masyarakat yang menghuni situs. Pendekatan yang dilakukan dalam tulisan ini melalui pendekatan kebudayaan materi dan pendekatan sosiologi. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian, penghuni awal dari pemukiman situs Tanjung Raya adalah masyarakat pendukung tradisi megalitik. Salah satu tinggalan berupa keramik di situs Tanjung Raya,  pertanggalannya    bisa disejajarkan dengan prasasti yang merupakan peralatan yang dibawa oleh kelompok pendatang sebagai kelompok yang membawa prasasti. Kepadatan temuan keramik yang diperoleh di situs Tanjung Raya menunjukkan kedua kelompok masyarakat telah terjadi hubungan ataupun interaksi sosial yang dinamis. Kata Kunci: tradisi, megalitik, Tanjung Raya, penghunian, interaksi
